Samueli Institute is a non-profit research organization based in Alexandria, Virginia, supporting the scientific exploration of healing processes and their role in medicine and health care. Jonas, MD, has been the President and CEO of Samueli Institute since it was founded in 2001. As part of its work in the area of optimizing health and well-being in a health care setting, Samueli Institute coined the term "Optimal Healing Environments" in 2004 and developed an organizing framework containing 4 environments and 8 concepts.
